Eponymous Gangster Week Continues with T-Shirt Explosion

We should all applaud the guy making “Free Whitey” t-shirts. It’s a good gag, and the weird, counterintuitive design—which vaguely harkens to the Departed logo—is inspired. We should buy his shirts and wear them to the beach and concerts and other places where people go to have fun and show off their cool shirts.

What we should not do is bother the guy with dumb questions like “do you really want to free Whitey”? It’s obvious that he doesn’t. Because who would? He’s a murderer who sold out his fellow murderers. This isn’t Leonard Peltier we’re talking about here. And yet two news stories about the guy make him say that out-loud and forthright.

There are other Whitey T-shirts out there on the internet. Not enough to make buying the domain White-T-Shirts worth it, but a couple. This one’s nice, with the ’50s mugshot that was used in the New York Times.

But it’s got nothing on the Rat King shirt. That’s a brand new other level of holy shit right there.
